Asteera is a young , enthusiastic physiotherapist who recently completed her community service in Ladysmith, at an outpatient clinic. She is motivated and has a passion for musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions. Her inspiration to become a physiotherapist was her childhood role model Natalie du toit , this was later consolidated when working with spinal cord injury patients during university and after.
She has completed a multitude of short courses since graduating from UKZN, in 2014, to further her skills in treatment of musculoskeletal ailments. Some courses include Ktape and dry needling. She has worked with many endurance athletes over the past year as well as spinal rehab patients both in Durban and Pietermaritzburg.
She has a keen interest in chronic pain syndromes and is currently training to use laser light therapy to treat these syndromes.
