Claudia graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2002. After completing community service in Kwa-Zulu Natal she worked in the UK for 3 years in a private orthopaedic and sports department in London where she was exposed to cutting edge surgeries and gained a special interest in sports injuries and orthopaedic rehabilitation. During this time she completed amongst others, Pilates and Acupuncture/dry needling courses and gained a special interest in shoulder injuries. Following this she moved to Johannesburg where she worked in a private sports practice and completed a Masters in Physiotherapy with a sports stream at the University of the Witwatersrand. She completed her master’s research in shoulder pain in wheelchair basketball players thus furthering her knowledge in this area of interest. During her stay in JHB she worked with Lion’s senior and junior rugby which included travelling with the teams.
She also worked with the Men’s South African Wheelchair Basketball team in their build up to the Paralympics and Africa world cup qualifiers. In 2009 she started travelling to India to work with various Elite athletes including Olympic boxing, wrestling, air rifle shooting and tennis as well as running. She has also worked in and helped in the set-up of one of India’s first sports medicine centres in Mumbai. Here she was involved in therapist education and program set up as well as patient care. She continues to work in and out if India having now attended the 2012 London Olympics with one of India’s elite athletes. Her heart however is in South Africa, more specifically Kwa Zulu Natal. She has always been a keen athlete having achieved national colours in Kickboxing, Basketball and Dragon Boating; and provincial colours in Netball, Gymnastics and Board diving. She has recently started running having completed half marathons during her stay in India. She continues to find interest in all sports and outdoor activities and has even started playing Ultimate Frisbee. Claudia has had extensive experience in all orthopaedic and sports injuries and rehabilitation. She loves to work closely with her clients whether they are fresh out of surgery, a weekend warrior or elite athlete to solve their injuries from the root cause with a fully integrative approach.
