Dr Lauren Dwyer

M.Tech Chiropractic

Lauren graduated from Durban University of Technology in 2012, having completed her Master’s dissertation on the effectiveness of Chiropractic treatment and rehabilitation on osteoarthritis of the knee. It was through these patients’ results that she truly began to appreciate the benefits that Chiropractic care can have on one’s quality of life, no matter how old. Lauren has always been somewhat of a water-baby, and it was through this love for the water that she succeeded in sport, having achieved Provincial colours in Swimming and Waterpolo. Most recently she was selected to represent the South African Ladies Underwater Hockey team at the World Champs in Hungary 2013, where they won a bronze medal. When not in the pool, Lauren pursues her growing interest in functional and weight training, having competed in both Kettlebell and Powerlifting competitions. She is also a qualified Kettlebell instructor and uses her background in strength & conditioning and sports, to not only focus on the area of pain, but to look at a patient as a whole and identify postural issues, muscle imbalances and mechanical flaws.
